The situation

What we did

We reviewed the documentation, identified a miscalculation in the accrual period, and prepared a formal response setting out the discrepancy and the basis for reconsideration. The client was kept informed at each drafting stage.

The outcome

The appeal was accepted and the pension figure was adjusted. The process took approximately four months. The client was satisfied both with the outcome and with the level of communication throughout.

The situation

A widow had applied for a survivor's pension following her husband's death after thirty years of service. The claim was initially declined on documentation grounds. She was unsure how to respond or whether a response was even possible at that stage.

What we did

We reviewed the refusal, identified the documentation shortfall, sourced the missing records through the appropriate administrative channels, and prepared the submission. We managed all correspondence with the pension authority directly.

The outcome

The claim was approved following resubmission, and the client began receiving the survivor's pension within six months of first contacting us. She described the process as considerably less stressful than she had expected.

The situation

A retired engineer believed he had been underpaid for several years and wanted to know whether it was worth pursuing a formal complaint. He had spent months uncertain whether to act, concerned about cost and effort.

What we did

We reviewed his records and the applicable regulations. After careful analysis, we explained that while the underpayment was real, the amount in question and the complexity of the appeal process meant the cost-benefit case for proceeding was not straightforward.

The outcome
